Ryan Gravenberch said he was delighted to score his first Premier League goal as Liverpool recorded a vital 3-1 victory at Fulham on Sunday.

The Dutchman's superb second-half strike gave the Reds what would prove to be a decisive lead at Craven Cottage, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota also on target for Jürgen Klopp's side.

For Gravenberch it was a perfect way to open his league account for the club, the 21-year-old receiving a pass from Harvey Elliott and curling the ball past Bernd Leno from 20 yards to make it 2-1.

Afterwards, Gravenberch told Liverpoolfc.com: "I remember I got the ball from Harvey and as soon as I took that first touch I knew already that I wanted to shoot.

"It was nice to see it go in, I’m very happy with my first Premier League goal."

Reflecting on the win, a result that moved Liverpool level on points with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, Gravenberch added: "For us it was important because we are out of Europe and we had to to get confidence again.

"So we won today and that gives us that extra boost."

Next up for Liverpool is another big game, with a Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park to come on Wednesday.

"For us we just go game by game," said Gravenberch. "We won today and now Everton is waiting for us on Wednesday and we have to be prepared for them as well and then we go moving forward."
